T Swift

So I haven't always been the biggest Taylor Swift fan.  Okay, okay, I actually really haven't liked her. At all.  But that's pretty valid.  How many songs can you write about boys, teen love and breakups.  Clearly there is no limit. Then you throw in all of her love capades.  The last one just about sent me over the edge.  Jake Gyllenhaal.  I mean is that for real?  Is it not illegal?  Does this bother anybody else?  Big shocker..they broke up.  Crazy huh.  So, that being said I decided to turn over a new leaf.  A Taylor Swift leaf.  You heard right.  I burned the Fearless cd off of the Wags Taylor Swift shrine of a computer.  My opinion has changed.  Don't get me wrong.  85% of the cd is the same junk about how some teen boy must have done her wrong.  Yadda Yadda Yadda.  I have however found one song that I have listened to on repeat for about 34 hours....That is a slight exaggeration.  But, I actually love the song "Your not sorry." (I think that is what its called).  Not exactly sure why it is that I love this song.  I have not been wronged or dumped on by a teen boy in quite a while, so I'm not too sure about my obsession over the teen drama song.  But this is me.  Getting real.  It's a good song.  So if I seem moody or full of some type of teenage angst, you can thank our good friend Taylor.

On another note.  I have decided that I am going to have more people over.  So far, so good.  I had mom and her posse over.  I had 4 of my favorite ladies over the other night for a delicious little meal.  And last night 123 high school girls came over.  Well actually there were only about 12 of them, but they sound like 123.  We had breakfast for dinner. I don't think I have ever made that many pancakes or bacon.  Seriously, I was coated in bacon grease.  But, I love them.  All of them.  They are hilarious and fun to be with.  And I am super excited about the next few months with them.  Back to my point.  Hopefully, in the near future, you could come for a meal at the Girl Palace:)

HERB

Big news.  Herb Sass (my dad) is running for Charleston Council on March 8th.  We would love your support.  So if you live in Mt. Pleasant and are in our district-be ready to vote.   If you know him, then you already know that he is up for the challenge.  I really can't say enough about him ( I am aware that I may be a tiny bit biased...).  Truly he is one of the best people I know.  More info to come.  I mean who wouldn't want this sweet man representing them:

VOTE FOR HERB:)

Snookie Sighting

That's right.  We spotted Snookie on James Island on Saturday night. Along with "Mike the Situation."  And I must add that it was indeed a bad situation...I may or may not be lying about seeing the original cast of Jersey Shore, but I have no doubt that these mangy characters will show up sometime in our near future on good ol MTV.  Lay Sarah The Situation lay it down for you.  It was just a normal Saturday on my end.  Woke up, had a meeting at church, went to lunch with some wizards.  Came home.  Played a little football on the old Xbox (don't judge).  Then went and saw The King's Speech.  Great movie.  For real.  Go see it. Then I was just prepared to sit around and watch tv all night (I'm really cool, I know. You don't have to tell me.) When all of a sudden, my trusty super cool friend called and threw out an offer.  Since I was so busy I had to re arrange my schedule to fit it all in. But I made it work.  So I set out on my 120 mile journey to James Island.  After hours of travel I made it safely to The Smokey Oak Tavern.  To find old trusty friend and her accomplice applying makeup under a street light.  Classy...hah.  Just kidding- I love yall.  Anywho-we ventured in to the place.  I should add that we were meeting people that I did not know.  (if you know me then you know that I get super nervous around peeps I don't know) But I played it cool...Masked my nervousness by sucking down 27 glasses of water.  There are several things that I would like to comment on, but I got a filter for Xmas and I have decided to use it..I will focus on the scene that went down right in front of our table. So there we were.  In this tavern.  Enjoying ourselves.  When all of a sudden, a pack of guidos enter.  Once again I have discussed this with Urban Dictionary to define guido for those that do not know:

an Italian American man usually residing in New York or New Jersey. He wears shirts that are too tight and unbuttoned 5 buttons too low to show off the chest that he spent hours and hours at the gym obtaining, he spends more time on his hair than his girlfriend, and continues to "hit the clubs" long into his mid to late 30's. Often attracted to the female version of himself, the guidette.

So the pack of guidos and other misfits enter our line of view.  I could here their accents through the random noise of the bar.  Very strong I must add.  So we had "the situation" and a midget with a beanie (not a real midget, but that is what we named him, and then one man (whom we shall call "Butt Cut" for obvious reasons) who could barely stand and keep from passing out.  They were loud and obnoxious.  Moving from place to place.  I made several awkward eye contacts with them throughout our time together.  Finally Snookie came on the scene.  Snookie was a bit snockered if you ask me.  But that is neither here nor there.  Actually it is here.  Because she set the tone for the night.  Well she begins to dance with "The Situation."  I should add that there was no music playing.  Just some football games.  Man did they have rhythm...Now that I am writing this-it was kind of gross, but we just had to keep watching.  I guess we were starstruck...Anyhow, Snookie had a drink in her hand so she couldn't booty dance up to her full potential.  So naturally, she comes over to our table to put her drink down.  Being the hospitable southerners that we are, we engaged in a lil conversation.  She was here visiting.  I proceeded to call her Snookie.  She didn't hate it.  Yadda Yadda. She headed back to get up on "the situation" (Literally).  Well as you know from viewing the shore, you know that they are happy and then there is some kind of fight, with slapping and cussing, then they are happy again.  Well this must have happened several times.  Snookie then moved around to the midget.  Then to Butt Cut.  Then back to "the situation".  Throw in some kissing and disgusting touching and dancing.  For about 2 hours.  We were pretty entertained.  In fact- My stomach started to hurt from laughing.  Must have pulled a muscle or something.  I could go into more detail about this night, but I will leave it to your imaginations.  Snookie did happen to leave with the "Situation".  So I can't confirm how the night ended.  All in all-It was a successful night.

Peace

In case you were wondering

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Makeover

The blog got a little makeover.  It was time.  Hopefully you like this...If not, it doesn't matter because I do.  Anywho...Let me fill you in on the lost bus boys.  I honestly can't pick a word to describe them.  They are 3 guys from Michigan, on a journey across the country, on a crazy looking bus full of food and canned goods and 3 bunk beds, volunteering as they go.  Yeah.  That about covers it.  They are awesome and you need to check them out.  Just click on this.   We even took them to Okra Grill for a lil southern breakfast (Yummy).  There was one thing that I was fascinated by- They have never even heard of Chick Fil A!! So sad.  Poor guys.  Hopefully they will become well acquainted with the chicken along their journey.  And hopefully they will come back when there is no arctic tundra.  Here is a pic of the bus:

Biz who?

Biz got a new look.  It's pretty sassy.

Do not try this at home

If you are looking for a way to scare the bejesus out of you or a way to not ever be able to fall asleep, I have found your solution: Google "the end times."  Great read. SIKE.  Worst idea I have had in a long time.  I went against my better judgement.  Lost a lot of sleep.  So I am in a real good mood right now....And I have a load of questions....

Blizzard of 2k11

Charleston is on lockdown.  Schools are cancelled.  Bridges are closed.  Gas stations are closing at noon.  Why you ask?  Rain.  That has a chance of freezing. I am definitely not complaining (since I awoke at 10am all snuggly in my bed and ate some nice, warm oatmeal), but I think it's funny that we hit the panic button with some cold rain.  So I slowly got up, went to play some xbox at the DuPre's then headed over here to the office.  Tonight is also the NCAA championship which is sure to be good.  There is also a little adventure going down tonight.  Somehow S.D. has gotten in touch with these people:

And they are going to eat dinner at the DuPre's.  Where I will also be eating dinner.  It is sure to be an adventure.  I will fill you in later:)

Peace 2010. Keep it Real

2010.  It was a good one.  For the most part.  If you have been reading this then you pretty much know what 2010 looked like on my end.  Hope yours was as fun as mine. 2010 had a lot of firsts: real job, new roommates, weddings, BETTY B, Antoine Dodson and several other cool things.  Luckily, I got to finish out the year on Edisto (my most fav place) with some of my most favorite people. We slept, watched football, ate oysters, drank beer, watched football, played xbox, watched football and went in the boat.  And had a bb gun shooting competition. What more could you ask for.  Here are a few of my favorite pics:

I should also mention that Shawn and I tried to befriend a lonely cow on the side of the road.  Fail.  He was not so friendly.  Thank God there was a fence...

Don't worry- when he rammed the gate we kept our cool.... So I was going to write this big ol swan song for 2010, but I have decided not to bore you.  I am not one to make resolutions and actually follow them, but I'm thinking 2011 could be different.  I'm going to give it a shot....You never know what could happen.

Run and tell that,
SRS
