Betty's Swan Song

Sorry I have been slack in my post wedding blogging, but homegirl is exhausted.  I know that you are waiting for me to sarcastically re live this past weekend's big event, but maybe for the first time in my life (monumental moment here) I don't have any sarcastic comments to make.  It was truly an awesome/beautiful occasion.  Here we go:
Thursday is really when the action began.  I got off of work and headed to small group.  About halfway through small group I realized that I really shouldn't be in there, because a had a ton of stuff I needed to do/find before the rehearsal dinner....Not good.  All during small group I realized I needed to learn how to style my hair, by some makeup, find some kind of cool/stylish hair contraption (otherwise known as a clip), maybe consider buying some product for the ol weave I have going on, look for a new bra (sorry boys who happen upon this), look into accessorizing (at this point I think I was hyperventilating in the middle of small group) and eat lunch so I wouldn't go down after one drink at the rehearsal.  I had all of this to do in 2 hours.  Plus I had to bathe.  So Betty put on her big girl pants and said her goodbyes then headed to the dreaded Towne Center.  Not gonna lie-I kicked some butt in that retail hell (that's what I like to call it bc shopping totally overwhelms me and I partially hate it.  Nope- I whole hate it.  I did so well. Until I realized that I had to go into Ulta.  Ulta is my worst nightmare in the form of real estate.  I hate that place.  But that is another story that only few know, but I may share on another day.  So I hurried home and on to the rehearsal.  The rehearsal was awesome.  I had so much fun.
Greg (Megan's padre) and I are besties...

Melinda (Megan's mom) is the best

(Here we are trying not to fall down laughing. Megan's sweet little innocent sister (far right) just told us something incredibly ridiculous...)

Then we went on to eat a glorious meal at Laura Albert's.  Speeches were made, drinks were had and all in all it was a grand time.  On to the main event.

                                                                     (Top 3 right here...)
Friday we had the bridesmaids luncheon which was delightful.  I only had like 7 mimosas...a proper bridesmaid must hydrate.  We laughed and drank and ate a delightful breakfast together.  Then I panicked because I realized I had not got my nail did.  So I bolted over to the dreaded nail place.  I feel like getting your nails done is so awkward.  Plus I feel bad for the people that have to deal with these feet.  After that I raced over to my stylist's to get the ol hair and makeup done.  I must say-it looked pretty awesome.  I sported my new clip also.

Soon it was go time.  We arrived-on time- at the church.  We spent some good quality time in the Library. Where we devoured a nugget tray.  Then Josh the best photographer in the universe showed up to snap our glamour shots.  Please check out his website for pics.  They are awesome.  Hopefully there will be more soon....Josh I know you are secretly reading this...Pictures were actually more fun than you would think.  Soon it was time to line up.  This is when Betty became uber emotionally.  I started crying before we even made it into the church. I could hear Dwight singing Divine Romance which just happens to be my favorite song.  I saw my cue and headed down the aisle.  I have to say that it is a surreal moment when you walk down the aisle.  I seriously can't even imagine what it would be like to be the bride.  I think right about this time I realized how cool of an experience this was. I know I complain about bridesmaidenship, but I truly felt so honored to be a part of something so cool. I may even go as far as to say precious.  I couldn't wait to get to the end because I was dying to see Megan come down.  And that she did.  And she looked awesome.  By this point I was bawling crying.  I have never seen such a beautiful bride.  Chris had the biggest smile on his face.  It was awesome.  I loved it.  It was sweet to celebrate something so special with all of my favorite people.  I love looking out over the crowd and seeing everyone I love so much.  Soon it was time to kiss the bride and what not and then head to the real party.

I hitched a ride with the Vincents whom are awesome. (just a side note)  We arrived at Pepper which was beautiful.  I seriously can't wait to see the pics.  I headed to the bar to hydrate and then check out the spread.  The food was awesome.  After everyone had their fill the band cranked up the party.  We danced until they basically kicked us out.  I had so much fun.  We truly have the best friends. Plus they all aren't to scared to get out on the dance floor.  Soon it was time for the Simons to head out.  We lit sparklers (Melinda stabbed me with one by the way) and sent them off.  Then it was over. So sad.  All in all it was incredible.  I will never forget it.  Although I am still depressed that Megan has left the Girl Palace.  I seriously do not know what I am going to do.  Oh well.  Anyways, I think this is it for Betty Bridesmaid for a while.  Sad I know.  Don't worry-she may be back someday, but for now she is going on a little vacay....

PS-I will be sure to update you when the wedding pics are up..

This is Betty Bridesmaid signing out...don't miss me too much,
Betty B
