Parading about

Today was the Mt. Perfect Christmas Parade.  I both love and sometimes dislike this event.  Love the lights, people watching, seeing old friends and the Burke Band.  Dislike wanting to stop by too many diff parade spots, the lag between floats, the blue cop lights all over the place.  I also think that the town should put hot chocolate stations throughout the parade route.  Herb and Ginny were i the parade and they looked pretty stellar.  If only I had thought to take a picture... Gah.  I also wish that the Burke Band would just stand and play right in front of me the whole time.  I am clearly in need of a serious dance party.  Help a sister out.  Any who.  The parade went off with out a hitch.  I rode my bike.  Ripped a huge hole in my pants.  But I had fun.  Even got to watch some of it with fight club. Word up.
Trouble
Yum yum in the tum tum
 They look like lil russians...
Yeah, I get to hang with these cool cats.  Fight Club representin.
Cool points for tossing a pizza in the parade
 Super cute truck
This dude was skateboarding behind a trailes.  In a tu tu
I thin I want to be an Elvis impersonater in a parade.  Sounds pretty magical.
Burk Band just dropping some beats down.
 My WORST nightmare
Who doesn't love a giant hotdog?
 Adorable
 Straight up America right here.

Magical

I'm watching Ray Lamontagne Storytellers.  Yes, my small crush is still there.  I'm sipping hot chocolate and I'm looking at these pictures from last night.  I just love old cars and twinkle lights.  Magical.  So, happy Saturday friends!
I hope Santa brings me one of these Army trucks....

The Big Tease

I like love Pinterest.  But lets get real.  She is nothing, but a big ole tease.  One can spend countless, delightful hours designing boards and pinning magical things.  In hopes of one day actually making the things one pins.  Or owning a house that looks as magical as the ones on our boards.  (I don't know how these people have so much style and creative ideas.)  Where will I ever meeting a guy that's as cute as the ones on our boards...  And what girl that has a Pinterest account doesn't have a wedding board of some sort??  Yeah. We are all guilty.  Big tease.  The wedding rings that I may have accidentally pinned on mine are probably worth more than any house I want or they are sitting in Kate Middleton's jewelry box.  At the palace.  My outfits will not probably ever come close to looking like they do on ol Pinny.  Yeah.  Definitely never going to happen.  I actually almost attempted to bring Pinterest to life yesterday.  I decided that I was going to make something I found on Pinterest to give to families as Christmas presents.  So after searching through all of Mt. Pleasant for quart sized mason jars, I finally landed at the Piggly Wiggly.  I had Katie Wags with me for support, so naturally the moral was low.  Ha.  I almost had a meltdown looking for ingredients.  I am just not cut out for this kind of stuff.  $50 bucks later i had 78% of what I needed.  I was not fairing well my friends.  Within 1 hour I realized that I was probably not going to be able to reproduce the image that I had pinned on Pinterest.  I mean, the chances were slim my friends.  So, naturally, I returned every single item at 9pm last night.  The customer service man (who happened to be my 5th grade teacher) said he isn't used to people returning so many items.  All the cool people are doing it right?  2% of me feels defeated.  The other 98% is thankful that I am not measuring out ingredients and tamping them into a mason jar.  Freedom!  If you don't get a present- sorry.  My mental health is more important than you getting chocolate chip oatmeal quick bread in a cute mason jar.  Ain't happening.  So I will now get back to work.  While accidentally pinning things here and there:)

I'm Crying

And wetting my pants.  I really don't know if I have ever enjoyed youtube videos like this before.  If you need to be entertained for 5 minutes then do yourself a favor and watch these videos. I tried to post them on here and I have no idea what happened.  So youtube sophia grace and the ellen show.  It will not disappoint.  Promise.

Seriously.  I am not joking.  I just started crying due to laughter.  And now I love Ellen.
This is a good day.

Don't eat the poop.  Still.

Lumberjacks & The Nutcracker

On Saturday night I attended my first ever lumberjack themed bday.  Yes.  You heard right.  The Alexander's threw baby Henry a lumberjack party.  This is actually quite fitting.  Side note- I love Hannah and Matt.  No joke.  Pre marriage and during marriage.  They are awesome.  Hannah is seriously one of the coolest people that I know.  Slash the nicest.  Just saying.  End side note.  There were lumberjack people, lumberjack food, lumberjack drinks and football.  And lots and lots of kids running around.
One highlight of my night was seeing Megan hold a baby.  For more than 1 minute.
Check out these 2 cool cats...
 The birthday lumberjack
Here comes my favorite part of the night.  The beautiful lil nugget below (Fisher).  I won't write his mom's name on here for protection...hahah.  He could be one of my all time favorite babies.  Seriously. I love him.  Well he was wandering about and I happened to pick him up off of the floor.  Clearly he had put something in his mouth.  His mom was yelling to stick my hand in there and get it.  I assumed it was a Lincoln log because he was popping lil logs into his mouth all night.  So my motherly instincts kicked in and a jammed my hand in there.  Only to pull out some un-identifiable particles.  I thought it was chunks of dirt at first.  So I wiped it all on my pants.  Fisher started crying.  I realized that I smelt poop.  I thought he pooped his pants so I tossed him right over to his un identified mom.  She immediately realized he did not take a poop.  No he did not.  He ATE THE POOP.  I immediately smelt it on my hands.  I then went into one of the largest laughing spells that I have ever had.  Seriously.  I know it sounds gross, but it was hilarious.  Poor guy.  Ate poo.  The best part was that the "mom" and I were dying laughing in the kitchen, holding the crying baby at the sink and no one knew why.  Oh man.  My face still hurts from laughing.  But, seriously, look how cute he is.  Especially bearded.
 Just one more..
Today was a little more low key.  I got to kick off the holiday season today by going to see The Nutcracker at the Sottile Theatre.  Nightmere and I went to see Emma Senf rock it in the ballet.  I feel so cultured now.  So now I am sitting here sipping my hot chocolate, Internet Xmas shopping and organizing pictures.  I'd say it was a pretty good weekend.

Don't eat poop,

Well Said

All you Clemsonites please read this carefully.  The end.

"Dabo Swinney Problem
Thursday Dabo Swinney angered the entire South Carolina Gamecock fan base with an attack on the University and coach Steve Spurrier. Swinney was five days removed from losing to South Carolina for the 3rd straight year and was responding to a quote that he thought came from Steve Spurrier
at stated "We aren't Alabam we aren't LSU but we sure ain't Clemson". The quote has since been
stated that it never came from Spurrier, but Dabo still insisted to fire back. I personally have been very complimentary of Swinney this season. Earlier this year I wrote an article calling Clemson "College Football's Fun Team". I'm done complimenting the man though, his late season collapse and crazy attack on USC shows the type of coach he truly is.

Swinney's main attack was on the history of The University of South Carolina Football, a program that only has two 10 win seasons and one conference championship in its history. Dabo pointed out that Clemson has a national championship, 17 conference titles, and two division titles. What Dabo doesn't point out is the fact that none of those conference titles or national championship came while Dabo Swinney was an adult. Swinney is bragging about the accomplishments of men like Danny Ford and Frank Howard. Great men like Banks McFadden, Terry Kinard, Homer Jordan, Donnel Woolford, and Terry Allen helped earn those championships not Dabo Swinney. Consider this about Dabo and Clemson, since 1977 the Tigers have had 6 head coaches, Dabo ranks 5th in winning percentage among those coaches. Only Tommy West had a lower winning percentage. In the USC-South Carolina rivalry, Swinney is the first coach in nearly 5 decades to have a losing record against South Carolina.
Swinney also goes on about how childish the comments were. Childish? Dabo, you are the man kissing a rock, chest bumping players, and treating every postgame interview like you just won the National Championship. Stating that the real USC is in California and the real Carolina is in Chapel Hill comes across as childish. It's something I would expect to read on the popular Clemson Message Board Tigernet.com. I'm not sure I've ever heard Bob Stoops tell the media that the real OSU is in Columbus and not Stillwater. Can you imagine Gary Patterson telling people the real UT is in Knoxville? These are comments made by message board posters named BigTiger08 or ISTILLLOVEDANNY81, not a college football head coach.
In the 90s Steve Spurrier got in the heads of Phil Fulmer and Ray Goff by his remarks at Gator booster meetings in Florida. Spurrier liked to take a quick jab at these coaches and knew he could because those guys couldn't beat him. Spurrier is now in the head of Dabo Swinney and is just humiliating Dabo on and now off the field. The Ball Coach has to be at his house right now(maybe sipping on a Coors) and laughing at Dabo's remarks. Steve knows he has won this rivalry now and has Dabo right where he wants him.

Since we are going on the history of the schools, maybe we should look at the history of the coaches involved in the rivalry. Steve Spurrier has won seven conference championships in his career, including an ACC Championship(something Dabo has never won). Spurrier is the second winningest coach in SEC History behind Bear Bryant. Spurrier won a national championship in 1996, coached a Heisman winner, and even won a Heisman himself. While at Florida Spurrier didn't only win, but he won big. At one point his Florida teams went 3 years without losing a single conference game! Spurrier is a man that will have books written about him for decades and possibly have a movie about him one day. Swinney is just another Al Groh, a coach who will stay at a school to long, recruit well, and never accomplish anything important. Swinney should be thrilled to be on the same field as men like Spurrier and should study the way Spurrier took three college jobs in his career and improved every single one of them.
Dabo Swinney has a huge game this weekend. He could win Clemson's first ACC Championship in 20 years and should be focused on trying to beat another coaching legend, Frank Beamer. Instead he's still focused on a team he won't play again for 359 more days. Great coaches don't do this. A great coach is preparing for the next week's game as soon as the previous one is over. Unfortunately for Tiger fans, they don't have great, they have a glorified wide receiver coach. Clemson fans, this is your Dabo Swinney Problem."
