Betty Bridesmaid has been gone for a while, but I am happy to report that she is back on the scene. Forgive the absence, she needed a vacay like nobody's business. Betty was begining to lose it. Tonight she has her first real Maid of Honor duties. Tonight is Logans' engagement party! What what. So she will be there in all her glory. She got some new additions to the wardrobe so watch out. A friend sent me a picture of Betty in high gear at her wedding in May:
Betty likes to have a good time and its real bad if there is a tambourine on the premises.... Sorry Camille.... It's been a while since Betty last appeared on here, so let me fill you in. Logan and I went dress shopping at Bella B and I didn't die. Strange huh? I have to say that I have come to love the bridesmaid dress girl at Bella. She is kind of a bad *ss slash angel. She knows me well by now. She knows that being a maid totally undoes me and she always is extra nice. She knows that being in that tiny room full of designer dresses wigs me out. They taunt me. She may even baby me, but I'm not complaining. I'm always the last to turn my things in and get my measurements....my bad. I'd go as far as to say that we are friends. We happen to see a lot of each other. Here are a few pics from our trip:
Don't I look happy? Elated? I'm a very good actress... Just joking. It was actually fun. Plus Logan had to do all of the work. Which is always good. I even got to try on some cool fascinators. I secretly loved them. Who would have thought? May have to sport one at the wedding. Actually, I think I want some. Watch out Mt. Perfect, fascinators are about to be on the scene. We shall see... It only took like 30 min to pick out the dresses, however I should have known it was too good to be true. As I meandered back to my car, there was a nice parking ticket. No good deed goes unpunished my friends.... So that's all I've got for Betty at the moment.
On to the mysterious man crush. I haven't written on this subject in eons, but I figured I need to because I just so happen to be sitting in Starbucks next to the former mysterious man crush from Metto. Now that I am here, up close, not freaking out- the spark is gone...HAHAH. Plus him being married is kind of a turn off... But seriously, happy to report that I have moved on. He must be jobless or something because he is always in here. Or he is independently wealthy. Which would be cool. I can see myself being totally great at being independently wealthy. I can't figure out what he does. I guess its none of my business. I also have this fear that he knows about the mysterious man crush because now he gives me super awkward looks. Really super awkward. Maybe he thinks that I have followed him here. Sorry dude, not the case. I followed the ice coffee here. Oh crap, we just made awkward eye contact. I would try to sneak a picture, but my position has been compromised. Oh well.
Word to your mom,

Happy Camper
I returned from Pawley's on Sunday night and headed out to Camp St. Christopher on Monday morning to counsel during senior session. I was pretty excited because I had never actually been there during camp. Plus Sarah W., Jessica "I love Camp" Compton and Mary Crawford were also out there working. Loved being with them. It was awesome besides it being hotter than hell. Seriously, I have never been that hot in my entire 25 years of existence. I drank more water than I could even imagine. It was like a sweat fest (gross, I know. Sorry). I was laughing at my self the whole time though. I felt so old because all of the other counselors were lil baby college kids. Everyone kept asking where I went to school. Sadly, I told them that I outgrew college. I also felt super insecure. Here is why. Before meal time, you go to the dining hall and sit at a table. Then they let the animals kids in for feeding. They file in and sit wherever. Well when they all start bypassing you, you begin to feel sorry for yourself...haha. Then Georgia Compton pops out of nowhere and saves the day. Here are a few pics from camp:
Anyways, that's all I've got for now.

I have some sad news to report. Uncle Chick (You may have met him in the Easter post), has passed away. Uncle Chick is my dad's dad's brother. He was very quirky and a little different, but he was brilliant. Seriously. He went to Harvard back in the olden days. I used to drive him a lot of places and he has bestowed upon me some good info. We talked talked Charleston, baseball, politics and war. He told me about Edisto and about growing up. He was a cool dude. He did happen to wear a wool jacket every day of his life the past 20 years (even in the summer), but he liked it. He liked peanut butter and chocolate. I am sorry to say goodbye to Chick, because he was special. A rare breed. Straight old school Charlestonian. Plus, I never got to meet my grandfather and he was a piece of him. I wish I had some cool pics to show you, but all I have are these: These pics crack me up to the extreme. Awkward family photo potential??
Anyways, that's all I've got for now.

Pawley's
I went to Pawley's Island this weekend and it was 100% delightful. Good food, great people and fun times. I love staying up late and waking up whenever I feel like it. So so nice. Each morning I went on a walk and totally lucked out by running into the Ballard clan. They are hilarious. Plus I got to see a lot of other people that I haven't seen in forever. Here are a few pics from the weekend:
Love you long time,
SRS
The house was beautiful
Basically, Baby Wagner stole the show. She's awesome.
Yay for America!
WHo doesn't love a good puzzle?
Side note- crocs should only be worn by tiny people. Case and point.
Yep, it was fun. I was sad to leave. But it had to be done. I'm going on an adventure this week. Or so I hope. See you when I get back!Love you long time,

The Evil Twin
By now, you are tired of hearing me moan about transition, but clearly you have kept reading. Well sorry. I have a case of stage 3 transitionitis, but I'm figuring out how to cope. Guess what?? I want you to meet a new friend. It just do happens to be my girl Transition's evil twin sister, "The Unknown." You may have already met her. She is a real you know what.... Always rearing her head and getting all up in my business. Yeah, she is a thorn in my side all right. She makes you 2nd guess, question the future, wonder about things that shouldn't bother you, injects some insecurity and just is a real party pooper. She can get under your skin real quick people. So watch out. Well, I'm a bit tired of Transition and Unkown so I think I am defriending them for a while. Peace out.
I know you may now think I am crazy because I talk about this junk in a weird way, but it makes me laugh. What's better than cracking you own self up?? Nothing.
I'm ditching the evil twin sisters and heading to Pawley's. Thank God. Peace out.

The Guay
I swam this morning. Side note- I have started swimming in the wee hours of the am lately. Besides dragging my lazy, tired body out of the bed at 623 a.m., it's actually quite delightful. More to come on adult swim later. Back to me. While swimming I usually try to focus on something. I tried prayer once, but it didn't go too well. So I have moved on. Today I thought about my trip to Paraguay. I think I went in the summer of '08. I went with my friend Emily (who is a rock star). Here she is:
Hasta Luego,
SRS
(This was during the layover...don't judge)
Now that I think about it, I can't believe that I went. I knew nobody. If you don't know, I don't love going places where I don't know anyone. I don't love when vulnerability tries to pull a sneak attack. Anywho, I was thinking about how beautiful it was and how amazing the people were. I didn't know what a blog was back then so I will just have to write about it now. We got to go for like 2.5 weeks. It was all amazing. Well except for the flights. I absolutely hate flying. It was like a 10 hr flight and I was squished between two South American women who just stared at me. It was a bad bad bad situation. Plus we had a 9 hr layover in the Santiago airport, going both ways. Besides that, it was stellar. I just looked through my pictures from the trip and realized how much that trip changed me. We rode around in vans, roamed the streets and ate tons and tons of meat. I made new friends, got pushed a little outside the comfort zone and got to see a whole nother culture that is very very different then mine here in Mt. Perfect. So I shall take a trip down ol memory lane.. Feel free to join. These are the Andes Mountains. So so so beautiful
Sunrise in Paraguay. Amazing.
No lie, the food was a bit terrifying at times.
I loved this kid. Tried to teach him a handshake and he always just stared at me...
These ones were always laughing and hanging around by the gate. We worked in this village called Itapaso. We fed them and tried to teach them stuff...
More scary food
Interesting fact- they hook up their meat spinners to their car batteries...Genius
Waiting for the gates to open
Arts and crafts....bad situation
I had to make friends with the boys. They were more fun
So we went into Argentina one night. I may have gotten in trouble with border patrol. Note to self, do not laugh at how similar your passport pic looks like Osama and then show the officers. Never a good idea.
Some Argentinian pals..
I also learned how to be a South American Samuri
I wanted to take this baby home. No lie. I think I cried when I had to give him back. He was the highlight of my trip.
Argentinian countryside...Stunning.
We went to the mine called "Wanda." I have no idea why.
This is were the river divides the 3 countries. So awesome.
We went to Iguazu Falls. One of the largest in the whole world. It was so cool. Magical if you will.
The last one was for dad. South America is really cool. I suggest you get there if you get the chance. It was amazing. The people were awesome too. And their coke tastes really good. And now I miss it. Awesome. Hasta Luego,
SRS
