Today is Day 1 of Betty Bridesmaid's debut wedding weekend. I know you are on the edge of your seats with excitement. Thanks to mom I went and got a pedicure today. I got "Get in my Cabana" Pink. The toes are looking pretty good right now. Lets hope they make it until tomorrow.
The wedding is tomorrow. I didn't realize how emotional this was going to make me. I am already laughing/crying/nervous/sad/excited. Just pick one. I guarantee I was feeling it with in the past hour. I can't believe our little MC is getting married. I am starting to get nervous about tomorrow night. I keep thinking that i will trip or cry or laugh or sneeze or something. Who do you look at when you come down the aisle. I mean I don't want to stare at the groom-he could think it is weird. I don't want to stare at his dad-no explanation needed. What do you do with your head? No idea. I even practiced my walk today. Its a 6 on a scale of 1-10. I'm working on it. I have to go straighten my hair now. Bet you never thought you would hear me say that...

Cyber Love? I hope not...
Wow. There are a lot of things running through this little head today. Before I start, let me take you back to last night. I hate even writing this on here, but I feel i must...So I was with my usual crowd of Caroline and Becca. We were doing our weekly therapizing session. In comes Mrs. Wagner. We were just going around the usual circle with talk of boys, weddings and what not. These are our big topics of the summer. So we start talking about boys and all of a sudden the once sweet and innocent Becca puts it out there that I need to join E-harmony or Match.com. I immediately feel waves of panic about to knock me over...I couldn't wait to hear what Caroline or Lee Ann would have to say to defend me. Boy was I wrong. They got all giddy and excited. Talking about making me a profile... I immediately shut down. Hell on earth. Probably one of my worst nightmares. I think I am going to try an hold out for a real life/natural love story(Somewhat like the Notebook....). No internet needed. Hopefully...So bottom line-If you see an online dating profile with my name/face on it-it's not me. It's those sneaky lil match makers....
Moving on. It is now Wednesday. The big day is Saturday. Yesterday mild panic set in. I was giving the Wagner girls the play by play of the wedding weekend. While talking I started to get nervous. They kept asking me about hair, makeup and accessories. I am 0 for 3 in that department....What the heck will I do with my hair? No idea. I hardly even brush it....Plus now I may need some type of clip thing to hold it in place.....This is a bad situation...Makeup? Nope. Accessories? Like jewelry? I'm getting overwhelmed as we speak....How do I tie my sash? No idea. Maybe I should try my shoes on? Good idea...What if I start sweating really bad? Will people be able to see it? I am definitely going to sweat. If I straighten my hair I know it will frizz to the extreme once I set foot outside. What if I cry the whole time? Or worse-what if I laugh the whole time? Or I could possibly pass out. I could potentially trip in the middle of my aisle walking.
These are just a few little things I have been pondering this week....

Life in Spandex
This posting is going to be like a melting pot of topics. First let me start with Shaun Wahl and spandex. I was innocently riding my bike down Coleman blvd and heard my name being shouted. I should have known. Shaun was dressed in what looked like a unitard ( later I saw that it was a 2 piece). He is a road biker. I do not want to offend any one on here, but I think road biking apparel is HILARIOUS. All spandex. I die laughing every time I try to think of myself in one of those numbers.. Shaun blew a tire and fixed it on the spot with his handy dandy tools. Impressive. There is even a road biker community. Should I join? Nah....
I got to go to Pawley's last week also. Every year I get to join the Wags for an awesome 2 week vacay. However this is my first summer with a big girl job so I was only able to go for half the time this year..tear. This year was different because Mary Margaret Angel Baby Princess joined us!! We had our annual photo shoot on Saturday night...No tears this time...see below

5 days. 5 days until Betty Bridesmaid is in the game. I can't believe the time is upon us. I feel like I have been prepping for ages...I picked up my dress last week and made a shoe purchase. Big steps for ol betty. I will expand on this more as the week unfolds.
Yours truly,
Betty B

Life's a Beach

Yes. I am writing to you on location. I am on a little vacay at Pawley's Island. Sorry for the delay in posting. Life got a little crazy last week since my last Betty B "incident." I have a minor Betty update to report. So last week was the unfortunate alteration jaunt. This past Saturday I had to go back for a "trial" fitting. As you know I wasn't very thrilled. As I pulled up to my loading zone spot on King St. I could feel the anxiety rising up. I slowly made my descent to the shop...As I opened the door there he was again. The shop boy. Sitting there. He was reading "Emma." No comment. With out any help I made my way back to the changing room. She basically threw me back there and told me to put the ol dress on. Thank God it fit!!! I stood there just staring. This doesn't happen very often considering I never look in the mirror. So the mission was a success. We even ordered shoes. Halleluja.
Lets move on. I house sat the Carmody's this weekend. Gloriousness. Then on Sunday some of me and my ol buds piled into the boat and headed to the Yacht Club to eat some supper. It was so good to be on the water. We stayed in the boat till 10. For memorial day I spent the day at the 7410 Club (Carmody's dock). Also on Sunday, Lizzie (Eliza's 1st true love), had little baby puppies. Now normally being present on the birthing would freak me out to the max, however it was really sweet. I actually only saw 1 of the 7 pop out. Needless to say I probably don't need to see it again. I miss you all...

Betty takes a hit
Now I know you have all been on the edge of your seats waiting for Betty Bridesmaid to return from her quiet hiatus from the wedding world (I mumble this in my most sarcastic tone...). Betty had to take a lil break since the Martin/Wallace carnival/wedding. I came out of retirement today as I made my way to the "Dress Shop" to see Molly. Now let me just say that Molly could possibly be an alteration/sewing/genius wizard. Just throwing that out there before I get dramatic. So today was the day. I had been staring at the dress knowing it needed to go down to get operated on so that it can perform to its fullest potential come June 19. However every time I looked at it, I became a little queesie. Can't explain it, but it happens every time. If I were a wedding Dr. I would most likely diagnose me with Bridesmaidenship anxiety level 10. Just to be on the safe side. Anyways as I pulled on to King St. I felt my stomach get a little weak. Then I forgot to breathe for a bit once I made eye contact with the shop. I threw my car into the loading zone and tried to collect myself before I went in. I may have shot up a few prayers. Why you ask? No flippin idea, but I was freaking out for some reason. So I go in (against my better judgement..) only to find a college aged boy. Great. A boy. Just what I wanted to see/talk to about my dress....Shoot me now...I immediately panic and start rambling about the weather. He continues to stare at me. I now turn red and stutter. He's still staring. Finally I say: "You really want to work here? For real? Why? Oops. I didn't mean that in a mean way..." He continued to stare at me. Finally I remember the lady's name and ask to see her. Now I thought I would just drop the ol dress off and come back in a week or so to pick it up. Clearly I have never been altered before. I could tell things were going down hill. FAST. She threw me into the dressing room and told me to suit up. In a nice way...So I cuss inside my head dreading putting it back on bc I knew it was right yet....Then I tell her I'm done, not knowing what comes next and she barges right on in. Clearly she does not know my unique modesty rules. Megan-knows them very well. Then she proceeds to tell me she needs to measure something so I can go ahead and take the dress off. Meanwhile she is standing there. No way am I taking that thing off with her right there. We just met. My gosh...Finally I ask her if she needs to be in there while I change. She takes the hint and steps out. Right about now my surpressed nervousness decides to make its way out. Does this woman, whom I hardly know expect me to stand there naked. AIN'T GOING TO HAPPEN....I bargained with her. All of the unmentionables + tank top are staying on for the measuring. I'm not sure, but she may possibly hate me....I did try to charm her with my wisecracks...didn't really help. Here is where I should mention that getting measured is really not that fun. In fact I think I strongly dislike/loathe it. I mean who wants some lady seeing you half naked, measuring you and then making small noises that you aren't sure whether they are positive or negative...Sign me up-NOT. So after what seemed like hours (1 min regular people time) she finished and allowed me to get dressed. Thank you Lord. I mean this lady now knows me a lil too well if you can smell what I'm stepping in here...I made my exit out of the dressing room and was itching to get out of there. She told me something, but I never really heard her bc I was so ready to get the stink out of there. On my way out I said bye to the boy at the front desk. Again, he stared at me. I didn't quite have my head on straight and I may or may not have run into the door. By may or may not I mean that I completely smacked into the front door. And guess what?? The boy was there. Staring. I quickly laughed about it and ejected myself from the store. Now I am 23%-76% traumatized. All for the glory of marriage......
